Hershey Park, Pennsylvania

Josie went around on this “Carrousel” today–
With Pappa at her side.
She sat high up in the saddle,
With a certain kind of pride.
The colors first were bright and shiny,
Progressing to a blur,
But Josie wasn’t worried,
She sat tall and sure.

Note: The Hershey Park “Carrousel” was intentionally misspelled when it was built in 1919. The “Carrousel” was beautifully decorated in a patriotic theme to reflect America’s continuing celebration over the “war to end all wars”.
